A RESOLUTION
BY COUNCILMEMBER NATALYN ARCHIBONG
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE BOARDS AND COMMITTEE MEMBERSHIPS PROSCRIBED TO A COUNCILMEMBER SERVING AS CHAIR OF THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT/HUMAN SERVICES COMMITTEE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

WHEREAS, Section 2-135 of the City Code defines the jurisdiction of each of the seven (7) Atlanta City Council Standing Committees; and
WHEREAS, the Committee on Community Development and Human Services (“the Committee”) primarily has jurisdiction over matters pertaining to planning and economic development, parks and recreation grants management and convention and tourism; and
WHEREAS, legislation has previously been adopted proscribing that the Chair of the Community Development and Human Services Committee, and in some instances, his or her designee, shall serve as a member of other boards and committees dealing with matters under the jurisdiction of the Committee; and
WHEREAS, pursuant 97-R-0716, 05-O-1733, and 13-R-3111 the boards and committees where the Chair of the Community Development and Human Services Committees shall serve as a member, and where applicable, his or her designee, respectively, include the Atlanta Development Authority/dba/Invest Atlanta, Atlanta BeltLine Inc., and the Atlanta Continuum of Care; and
WHEREAS, the Chair of the Community Development and Human Services Committee has traditionally held a seat on the Board of Directors of the Center for Civil and Human Rights, as an important tourism attraction for the City and this resolution supports that this appointment shall continue for each successor to the chair.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ATLANTA CITY COUNCIL, that certain boards and committee memberships have hereby been proscribed to the councilmember serving as chair of the Community Development and Human services Committee or, where applicable, his or her designee.
BE IT FURTHER RESLOVED , that Board the boards and committees where the Chair of the Community Development and Human Services Committees shall serve as a member, and where applicable, his or her designee, include the Atlanta Development Authority/dba/Invest Atlanta, Atlanta BeltLine Inc, and the Atlanta Continuum of Care.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Community Development and Human Services Committee has traditionally held a seat on the Board of Directors of the Center for Civil and Human Rights, and this resolution supports that this appointment shall continue for each successor to the chair.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that all resolutions and parts of resolutions, in conflict herewith are hereby waived to the extent of the conflict.
